Virtual Reality or VR technology designed by Yohanes Stanley, a game technology student at Soegijapranata Catholic University, Semarang, contains games about the environment.
Here users get education about the environment that is fun because it is packaged in a game. Users are invited to walk in a virtual world that is like being in a real environment, to learn to maintain cleanliness by picking up trash around and putting it in the trash.
Stanley views this method as effective considering that in this modern era, children, teenagers and adults love games. With this game, it is hoped that a love for the environment will grow by maintaining cleanliness around it.
"This tool is virtual reality, its function is to connect us to the digital world so with this tool, we can see everything in the digital world and educate about love for the environment. Like how to throw away trash, so people are more interested in starting to care about the environment around us." Stanley said.
The campus itself appreciates Stanley's work in inviting the public to love the environment.
Lecturer of Information Systems at Soegijapranata Catholic University, Stephanie Inggrit Swastinidewi added, "We do plan to raise awareness of the environment. In addition to this game, we are making automatic trash bins so that people are more aware of their environment.
"Not only VR Game cares about the environment, Unika Soegijapranata also created an automatic locker created by Syifa Khofifah, an information system student. This locker can be opened with a barcode sensor system on each student card.
