INFORMATION SYSTEM STUDENTS OF UNIKA SOEGIJAPRANATA LAUNCHED FIVE BOOKS, THESE AUTHORS SAID

Students of Information System (Study Program) Study Program Soegijapranata Unika Semarang, launched five books, last Tuesday (26/4/2022). All students who were involved in writing and compiling the five books admitted that this was their first experience.

Oktavius Theo Andreas Riyadi, author of the book “Young People's Financial Technology” admitted that this was the first time writing and compiling a book. According to him, the biggest reason why he compiled the book was because the development of information technology in the financial sector was developing so fast.

Currently there are many banking applications, to make it easier for users to transact. Apart from applications, there are also banks that only use information technology-based platforms. Not only banking applications, but also digital wallet applications are also increasingly being chosen.

Apart from that, investment and loan applications also utilize information technology or know it as Online Loans (Pinjol). There are various investment applications, from stocks, bonds to crypto. On the other hand, people, especially young people, have not been well educated about transactions using information technology.

"Through this book, we want to share knowledge, experience, risks and information about developing financial technology applications," said Theo, the nickname of the Soegijapranata Unika student.

He hopes, through the book can be shared with many people. The book he wrote with eight other students, about history, background, pluses and minuses of the application and tutorials on how to use it. Each student writes a subject that they really master.

Meanwhile, Gabriella Alicia, who compiled the book "Practice of C++ and Python Programming," said C++ is one of the most basic programming languages. Meanwhile, Python is a more advanced and concise programming language.

The purpose of compiling this book is, to show ordinary people that learning programming is not difficult. According to him, in the book, apart from showing examples, there is also a way to do it.

Cia, her nickname, compiled the book with eight other students. He hopes that the book he compiled can be useful for teenagers or beginners who are interested in learning programming languages.

"This programming language is the basis for web development and big data," he added.

From Personal Experience, Information System Students of Unika Soegijapranata Launched Five Books

The author of the book "Finally Face-to-Face Lectures", Aurellia Divosa Adisti admitted, the book she compiled was more based on the personal experience of each writer. They shared their experiences, during online lectures until finally face to face.

"Besides experience, we also share face-to-face lecture tips," said Divosa.

The reason for compiling this book is that so far many of their peers are afraid, worried and not ready to take part in face-to-face learning. But there are also those who are lazy (lazy to move), because they are used to online lectures.

He hopes that this book can be a motivation for the pandemic generation to be excited about returning to old habits, face-to-face. "I am bored with online learning," he added.

Ridwan Sanjaya, Lecturer in the Creative Writing Course, Information Systems Study Program, Unika Soegijapranata, stated that the preparation of this book motivated students to write. They continued, can also share through these books.

"This book can be downloaded for free through Google Books," he added.

Apart from the three books above, there are two other books, namely "When a Pandemic Becomes an Endemic" and "Programmers Without Coding".

His party deliberately did not print the book, because it is more practical in electronic form and has a wider reach because it was released by Google.
